OrbcommPlotter

This application decodes the digital messages transmitted by the Orbcomm satellites. Orbcomm is a satellite communication system (www.orbcomm.com) providing two-way data and positioning service to small, portable user terminals in the VHF frequency bands. You can use a simple VHF radio receiver (scanner) tuned to the band between 137 and 138 MHz to pick up the strong signals from these satellites. With OrbcommPlotter you can decode the telemetry and find out the positions of the satellites, their operational status and their uplink and downlink channels. Unlike most satellite signals, there are so many Orbcomm satellites that there is likely to be one within range of almost any spot on Earth at any time of the day or night.

This application decodes the digital messages transmitted by the Argos-3 systems on board NOAA and Metop satellites. The Argos-3 system handles telemetry from data collection platforms on oceanographic buoys, remote weather stations and is also used for wildlife tracking.
The spacecraft transmit PSK on 459.9875MHz and Argos3Plotter decodes the data using the audio from a radio scanner receiver. Messages include ephemerides, status reports, time checks, commands to remote platforms and acknowledgements of uplink messages.

Scancorder is a general purpose audio signal recorder for use in conjunction with a radio scanner. The audio is recorded digitally as a wave file, so that even digital modes can be re-processed or analysed later. You can program recording to start and stop at predetermined times. You can capture station IDs that occur on the hour, even if you have to be away from your radio. You can select Vox operation so that you only record audio when your receiver squelch is open. Even if your radio has no squelch output, Scancorder will detect when a signal arrives. You can leave your scanner monitoring all day long and come back home to hear what has been happening. You can use a script file to define a series of recording times and modes which can be exectured once and for all or repeated every day at the same times. When you playback a recording, the real time that the sound was originally is displayed on the screen. If you leave Scancorder recording in Vox mode, the time of every transmission or announcement is available. When you playback a recording, even if it was recorded with VOX control, you can skip forward to a specified record time to find a specific event. Scancorder
